Nissan Foundation Awards Grant for Racial Diversity Programming

The Museum of Us sends a big thank you to the Nissan Foundation for awarding the Museum a grant to fund virtual race workshops offered to high school and community college students throughout San Diego County!

Through these workshops, students will learn about the history of race, how science was used to create laws and societal norms that enforced racial discrimination, and how to become anti-racists in their communities.

The Museum of Us is one of 28 nonprofit organizations awarded funding from the Nissan Foundation in support of unique cultural and racial diversity programming. You can learn more about the Nissan Foundation and other 2021 grantees here.

The Museum of Us recognizes that it sits on the unceded ancestral homeland of the Kumeyaay Nation. The Museum extends its respect and gratitude to the Kumeyaay peoples who have lived here for millennia.

The Museum is open daily, Monday through Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
